Hi, I’m Joy! I’ve always felt that life is meant for exploring! Based in Orange County, California, I founded Alta Vista Travel Company out of a genuine passion for discovery and a desire to spend my time doing what I love most. 


With over 30 years of experience in sales and customer service, I’ve mastered the art of logistics and detail-oriented planning. My goal is to handle the complexities behind the scenes so your experience feels effortless from start to finish. When I’m not designing dream vacations, you’ll find me making memories with my wonderful family and friends, snuggling my mischievous pug, catching a live concert, or exploring all that Southern California has to offer.

However, our true passion lies in elevating the solo travel experience. We specialize in curated, independent itineraries across the world, ensuring that traveling alone never means feeling unsupported. 


Q: Does it cost more to book through a travel advisor than it does to book online? 

A: While the internet is full of deals, we focus on value. Between the hours we save you and the exclusive amenities we secure, the investment in a professional far outweighs the DIY approach. You aren't just booking a trip; you're securing peace of mind. 


Q: What is a planning fee? 

A: Our planning fee covers the professional time and expertise required to research and design a custom itinerary tailored specifically to you. This fee starts at $100 per trip (depending on complexity, group size, length of travel, etc.) and is due following your complimentary initial consultation. As a courtesy to our committed travelers, this fee is applied toward your final trip payment.

Q: I need a ride to the airport or need house/pet sitting. Do you have any referrals? 

A: We know that the logistics of travel start before you even leave your front door. We have a trusted network of local partners and would be happy to provide referrals for transportation, home care, or pet sitting to ensure your mind is at ease while you’re away.
